Sound Shaper is built and operated by Juan Esteban Villa Mendoza ("I", "me"). This policy says what data the app handles, where it lives, and how you remove it. The short version: the app collects the minimum it needs to work, shows no ads, runs no analytics or tracking, and never sells data. Sound Shaper is published on the App Store by Grostify LLC, which only distributes it and receives none of your data.

What the app collects

  • Account. Your email address, name and profile photo, as provided by the sign-in method you choose: Google, or Apple on iPhone. If you sign in with Apple and hide your email, the app only ever sees the relay address Apple gives it. You can change your name and photo in the app at any time; a photo you choose there is stored like the rest of your files.
  • Content you add. The MP3 files you add, their artwork, titles and subtitles, the clips you save, the order of your library, the trophies you earn, and two running totals that count toward them: how long you've listened and how many clips you've saved. None of it is shared, listed or shown to other people: your files are kept at unlisted web addresses that only your own account points to, and the app never shows or shares them.
  • Crash reports. When the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report with what went wrong, your device model, its system version, the app version and a random ID for this installation. Reports aren't linked to your account and are used only to fix bugs.
  • Account ID. A random ID that ties your data to your account, so only you can reach it.

Where it lives

  • Google Firebase — sign-in, the app's database, and crash reports (Crashlytics). No other account can read your data there.
  • Cloudinary — the audio, artwork and profile photo you upload, stored in a folder tied to your account.
  • Cloudflare — a small service of mine that deletes your files from Cloudinary when you remove them. It checks that the request comes from your account and keeps none of your content; Cloudflare keeps a short log of each request for a few days.
  • Your device — Sound Shaper keeps a copy of your library on your phone, so playback and shaping work without internet, and a copy for the Home Screen widget on iPhone. Signing out or deleting your account removes them from the phone.

These services may process your data in the United States and other countries.

What it's used for

Only to run the app: signing you in, storing your sounds, syncing them to your devices, and fixing crashes. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking across apps, and no sale or sharing of personal data with anyone beyond the services above.

How long it's kept

Your account and your sounds are kept until you delete them. Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Deleting your account removes everything right away, as described below.

Your choices

You can change your name and photo, and edit or delete any of your sounds, in the app at any time. To get a copy of your data or ask anything about it, email me.

Children

Sound Shaper isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email me and I'll delete it.

Deleting your data

Deleting your account removes your account and everything you added, uploaded files included. Your files go first, cached copies included; if they can't be removed at that moment, nothing is deleted and the app asks you to try again. The account deletion page has the steps, and you can email me instead if you can't access the app.

  • Informes de errores. Cuando la app se cierra inesperadamente o encuentra un error, envía un informe con lo que falló, el modelo de tu dispositivo, su versión del sistema y la versión de la app y un identificador aleatorio de esta instalación. Los informes no están vinculados a tu cuenta y solo se usan para corregir errores.
  • Identificador de cuenta. Un identificador aleatorio que vincula tus datos a tu cuenta, para que solo tú puedas acceder a ellos.

Dónde se guarda

  • Google Firebase: el inicio de sesión, la base de datos de la app y los informes de errores (Crashlytics). Ninguna otra cuenta puede leer tus datos ahí.
  • Cloudinary: el audio, las ilustraciones y tu foto de perfil que subes, guardados en una carpeta vinculada a tu cuenta.

Para qué se usa

Cuánto tiempo se conserva

Tus opciones

Menores

Eliminar tus datos
